Fazl Ali College on the 12th of August organised Fresher’s Day at the College auditorium to welcome the newly admitted batch of 2023. The Fresher’s came with much enthusiasm and excitement and were warmly welcomed by the senior students. The programme led by the students had two sessions, a formal and an informal one. The Principal I. Wati Imchen on the occasion extended a heartwarming welcome to the new students assuring them a memorable journey and the best rollercoaster ride to look forward to. He also added that keeping in mind the New Education Policy, 2020 the college has taken great steps to provide overall development of the students, specially in making them skillful enough to get employment after the completion of their studies. Ms. Mejenna T. Longkumer, B.Sc. 1st Sem gave a speech on behalf of the freshers. The formal session was concluded with a special prayer for the freshers by Limalemtur, Pastor Union Church, FAC.
The informal session was arranged for the selection of the new Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2023. The student participants had to go through several rounds of ethnic, casual, formal and finally the question round showcasing their skill in confidence and intelligence. After a tough competition Mr. Putusosang, BA 1 of Political Science Department and Ms. Angela Zhimo, BA 1 of English Department won the title of Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2023 respectively. Three subtitle winners were also announced, Mr. and Ms. Congeniality, Mr. and Ms. Runway and Best Ethnic Wear. A note of thanks was delivered by Mr. Asensor Jamir, Secretary of Social Services FACSU and the programme came to a close with the crowning of the new Mr. and Ms. Fresher by the winners of the previous year.
